CORONIL KIT
Patanjali launches its new drug Coronil for treatment of Covid-19 & Patanjali claimed 100 per cent success rate in clinical trials Ramdev said. Ramdev claimed Patanjali's medicines showed "100 per cent favourable results" in clinical trials Over 65% returned negative Covid-19 results in three days the company claimed, is an evidence-based medicine for the treatment of Covid-19, a pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus.
"The whole country and the world was waiting for medicine or vaccine for
corona. We are proud to announce that the first Ayurvedic, clinically
controlled trial-based evidence and research-based medicine has been
prepared by the combined efforts of Patanjali Research Centre and NIMS,"
Ramdev was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
PATANJALI'S CLAIM ABOUT CRONIL
Coronil which, the company claimed, is an evidence-based medicine for the treatment of Covid-19, a pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus. Patanjali launched COVID medicines Coronil and Swasari today. Conducted two trials:-
- A first clinical controlled study, which took place in Delhi, Ahmedabad, among many other cities. Under this 280 patients were included and 100 per cent of those recovered. We were able to control Corona and its complications in this. After this the all-important clinical control trial was conducted," Ramdev said.
- Patanjali collaborated with the privately-owned National Institute of Medical Sciences or NIMS University, Jaipur."With the help of NIMS, Jaipur we conducted the clinical control study on 95 patients. The biggest thing which came out of this is that within three days 69 per cent of patients recovered and became negative from positive (cases) and within seven days 100 per cent of them became negative," said Ramdev.
Tests had been done on all kinds of patients except those who are highly infected and are on life support systems like ventilators, said the Yoga guru. "Trials on the infected people who are on ventilation support system are still due," he told Press Trust of India.
CRONIL KIT CONTAINS
The medicine comes in a pack of three and has been made by elements such as Tulsi,Giloy and Ashwagandha. Price in India is Rs 545/-.
What Regulatory Body Says
- AyushMinistry:- The facts and claims made by Patanjali of the efficacy of its virus medicine, branded ‘Coronil’, were not known to the Ministry of AYUSH, according to a statement by the ministry that governs ayurvedic medicines. It asked Patanjali to stop advertising and publicising claims until the issue is examined.
- ICMR:- Offical statement By ICMR says we don't deal with ayurvedic product hence ICMR do not endorse the Cronil Medicines.
- CDSCO:- Central Drug standard control Organisation is Legal and Govt. authority for approval of new drugs. CDSCO has not approved such medicines.
SARS COV-2 VIRUS Causing CoVID-19. |
My Opinion
As a pharmaceutical field, I wonder how these herbal ingredients can cure pandemic CoVID-19. SARS-CoV-2 is a positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus that is contagious in human. Taxonomically SARS-CoV-2 is a strain of severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus No mechanism of action explained by Ramdev and Acharya Bal Krishan.
Major Mistake before launching Cronil kit is bypass approved clinical trials.
- Research
- Preclinical Trials
- Clinical trials Phase 1, Phase II, PhaseIII
- Approval
- Manufacturing
- Post Marketing
Most of the research and clinical trial is overpassed. I don't think this is a real treatment for CoVID-19, I just consider this just public drama and nothing else.
I want to be asked few questions:-
- Provide at the earliest details of the name and composition of the medicines being claimed for COVID treatment.
- Site(s)/hospital(s), where the research study was conducted for Covid-19
- Protocol, sample size
- Institutional Ethics Committee clearance
- CTRI registration and results data of the study (ies), and stop advertising/publicising such claims till the issue is duly examined.
